A REALLY HYPED BOOK YOU ARE NOT INTERESTED IN READING?
At this point it's as much about the hype levels as it is my initial ambivalence. I like Beauty and the Beast just fine, although I need more of a hook to draw me in to a re-imagining of that fairy tale. Some synopses and reviews I've read also make the series sound very trope-y. That isn't always a bad thing—there are some tropes I die to read—but in this case it sounds like there are a lot of non-favorites at play. I kind of wish I could be bothered to see what all the fuss is about, but my TBR is long enough as it is 😂
A SERIES YOU WON'T START/WON'T BE FINISHING?
I'd actually forgotten that I read the first book until I started blogging and saw how much love the community has for this series. It wasn't a bad reading experience...but it also wasn't great either. Considering how long the books are and that a total of three will follow the first, I just can't conjure up the enthusiasm to see if I like either of the already-published sequels more than the first.

ANY GENRES YOU HAVE NEVER READ?
Romance. I think I probably sneaked a few peeks at some of my mom's paperbacks when I was a kid, although that had much more to do with the "forbidden" vibe of the books than any real interest. I just generally find romance-centered stories more hokey than escapist, which spoils the fun.
A BOOK ON YOUR SHELVES THAT YOU'LL PROBABLY NEVER ACTUALLY READ?
Usually I love Anthony Burgess' books, but this one has sat on my shelves for at least six years. In that time I've tried and failed to read it three times, getting distracted by something else less than a quarter of the way through. My stubborn tendencies keep it on a shelf with all my other modern fiction even though my reader's heart of hearts knows it will only get taken off to be packed for another move.
