The Challenge: Within twelve months, read 12 books that have been sitting on my bookshelf or "to read" list! The list of books to read must be posted by January 15, 2018.
Each book must have been on my shelf or TBR list for at least a year (published before January 1, 2017). Up to two alternate choices are allowed, in the event some of the original dozen can't be finished. Books may be read in any order. Crossovers with other challenges are allowed, as long as you haven't read the book before and it was published prior to 2017.
Whenever I finish a book on my list, I will mark it as read and link the title to a review post on my blog!

I have heard of but haven't read a lot of books on your list, but I highly recommend Big Little Lies. If one book is a DNF for you, you have a good alternates list. I love how diverse the authors are on your list!
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear, and thank you! I really enjoyed HBO's adaptation of BLL, and my second alternate is the sequel to a novel I liked quite a lot, so I hope I'm well covered in the event of a dud :)
DeleteI really want to read The Alienist, now that the television show is coming... it looks so interesting. Blindness is a stellar book, and The Underground Railroad is certainly special. What a great list - good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely hoping to finish The Alienist before the show premieres! And I'm so glad to hear a positive opinion on Blindness— Death With Interruptions was outstanding. Thank you for hosting such a fun challenge!
DeleteThat is a very ambitious list. I stick mostly with mysteries although I am adding in some classics lately, and have always tried a little science fiction and fantasy. I look forward to your thoughts on The Underground Railroad and The Little Friend.
ReplyDeleteAlready off to a good start, I see! With that kind of motivation, I have no doubt you'll do very well at finishing these.
